The Town of Rangely is surrounded by miles of BLM (Bureau of Land Management). Throughout these lands are miles of gravel roads perfect for gravel grinding as well as fun trails perfect for mountain biking. You can spend hours on these lands and never see the same thing twice. A perfect place to create your mountain biking adventure.

There are also many outstanding locations to mountain bike within an hour drive from Rangely. Some of the most well-known spots are listed below:
Located approximately three miles south of town is County Road 23, aka Dragon Road, that takes you to beautiful BLM lands that are ideal for mountain biking. The endless acres of land provide hundreds of square miles of sagebrush flats, big rock drops, and so much more.
Meeker has approximately 16 miles of machine-built single track trails for intermediate to advanced riders. Some of the most popular trails are China Wall, Hidden Valley Trail, and Meeker Flow.
Fruita is considered to be one of the premier mountain biking destinations in the Western United States, and is located just over an hour south of Rangely. The various trails in Fruita provide riders with the perfect combinations of terrain for beginners, intermediate, & advanced riders. There are 18 leisurely trails in Fruita, which is a contrast to the epic Kokopelli trails that feature steep climbs, crazy switchbacks, intense downhills, and technical challenges that test the limits.

Just an hour south of Rangely is Loma, a town that provides outstanding mountain biking trails for riders of all ability levels. The Western Rim trail is one of the best known trails, with over 6 miles of fast, scenic singletrack that runs above the Colorado River. The Rabbit Valley trail is another well known trail that’s wide, fast, flat, and goes up and down along small creeks.

Located 45 minutes west of Rangely is Vernal, UT, a community that features outstanding mountain biking trails. There are over 45-miles of trails located just southwest of town, with the most popular being Jackalope, Corkscrew, Festicle, Retail Sail, & Can You Moo.
